Welcome to the NSDA Bulletin Board. This bulletin board is set up for such listings as:
  • Dancers looking for classes or performing opportunities
  • Choreographers looking for dancers
  • Announcements of special classes or workshops
  • Upcoming performances
  • Job opportunities
  • Resources for dance people (please, no regular class schedules. However, we encourage you to list contact information for those interested in finding out your class schedule)

The Massachusetts Dance Festival is being held at the Boston Ballet (August 21 & 22) and at UMass Amherst (August 28 & 29). There are performing opportunities for choreographers and companies, as well as teaching opportunities. A wide range of dance styles and approaches will be presented.

The Exit Dance Theatre and The Firehouse Center for the Arts presents Sound Moves on Friday, May 14, and Saturday, May 15, at 8:00 pm, at the Firehouse Center for the Arts. Admission is $18; $16 for members, and $14 for students and seniors. For more information, call 978-462-7336.

Sallee Slagle brings Forty Steps Dance and the North Shore Civic Ballet to the Boston Center for the Arts to join Kira Seamon in a unique evening of performances. Forty Steps Dance will perform three pieces from their repertory including the premiere of their newest work "Beneath the Surface" . North Shore Civic Ballet will present a recent work by choreographer Ivan Korn. Performing all three nights May 13-15, at the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts (BCA), 539 Tremont Street, Boston. For tickets, contact Boston Theatre Scene at 617-933-8600. Tickets are $25.00; $22.50 for Boston Dance Alliance members.

The Tell-Tale Heart
Unique and original interpretation of Edgar Allen Poe's beloved short story, The Tell Tale Heart. An unforgettable evening of dance-theatre featuring dancer/choreographer Kira Seamon, actress Carolyn Charpie, with music composed by Chris Fitzgerald of the Berklee College of Music.

Arias and Arabesques: The Carmen Suite
Bringing Bizet to life! Kira Seamon debuted the Arias and Arabesques concept last year, to the proven enjoyment of the audience! This unique concert combines live singing, opera, dance and music in a dramatic and innovative format. Artists from the New England Conservatory join Kira in an unforgettable performance.

Modern Dance Class
Mary Lee Karlins is offering a six week series of classes in modern dance at the Barn Studio, at 88 Green Street, in Newbury, near downtown Newburyport. The classes meet Thursday evenings from 7 - 8:30 and run April 15th through May 27 (which includes one free makeup class). Cost is $78. Please pre-register. Call Mary Lee Karlins at 978-462-9737.
